Our Mission and Vision
At My Mate Down The Pub, our mission is to share straight-talking business insights, debunk common myths, and guide curious founders and owners toward better decisions without the BS. Through our content and education initiatives, we aim to grow our audience and softly redirect leads to trusted professionals who can provide real help. Our website is designed to be a no-nonsense business media brand that challenges bad advice and viral myths, offering clear explanations and pointing people in the right direction.

Our Core Values
Our brand is built on the foundation of calling out hype and providing practical insights. We focus on busting common business myths, delivering plain English explanations, and fostering honest discussions. Our content is designed to be a sharp, helpful conversation similar to the ones you'd have with a knowledgeable mate at the pub.
Meet Our Team

Keith "Numbers" McDougall
Chief Financial Deniability Officer
Keith once ran a successful kebab shop, sold it for “undisclosed reasons,” and now keeps an eye on all the financial nonsense people post online. He doesn’t believe in spreadsheets, he believes in instincts and receipts on napkins. Favourite quote: “Profit is just opinion. Cash is fact.”

Sharon "The Alarm Bell" Styles
Head of Sensible Overreaction
Sharon’s job is to shout "HANG ON A MINUTE" anytime someone says “you can scale to 7 figures with zero staff, zero budget, and zero experience.” Known for printing off LinkedIn threads, circling buzzwords in red, and muttering under her breath in team meetings. She once made an influencer cry in a podcast comment section.

Derek "Seen It All" Pritchard
Director of Real Business Experience & Smoking Area Insight
Derek's spent 30 years running pubs, fixing fridges, selling a business, buying it back, and hiring and firing more cousins than he cares to remember. He has no social media, but he has sold a company in cash during a stag do. Derek translates “growth hacking” into real English and reminds everyone that margins are sexier than metrics.

Linda “Just Asking Questions” Penrose
Lead Strategist for Red Flags & Raised Eyebrows
Linda’s the one who’ll ask: “But what do they actually do?” She specialises in spotting smoke and mirrors before they become bonfires. Her idea of influencer outreach is quoting their advice back to them with context and a smile. She’s kind but deadly — like a Yorkshire terrier with a business degree.
